Who We Are – The Formal Explanation

Keepers of the Light, Inc. (“Keepers”) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit healing ministry incorporated in the State of Georgia on March 21, 2006 .  As such, Keepers is dedicated to promoting spiritual growth through healing and providing its services to the general public in a manner that is affordable and available for everyone.  (The term “healing” as used in Keepers’ mission statement means to make a change in a condition or situation.)

The primary goal of Keepers is to help others find their “Inner Truth” (a/k/a God, Creator, Divine Mind, etc., etc.) and strengthen their conviction in that Truth.  We at Keepers believe that individuals availing themselves of our services will feel supported in their efforts to make the most out of their time on this earth; they will walk away feeling that someone has acknowledged their existence; they will know that someone cares about them; and, in turn, it is hoped that they will do the same for someone else.

It is the belief and opinion of Keepers that it can make a difference in the community by offering its members an opportunity to improve their lives – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – through the services it provides.

Who We Are – Dian's Explanation

Keepers of the Light, Inc. is the result of answering a “call” to be “of service” to God – AGAIN!

Keepers of the Light originated in Houston, Texas, as a healing center in 1994.  The Center provided affordable space for those wanting to teach various alternative and complementary healing modalities and classes such as Reiki, Healing Touch, Meditation, etc.  It provided a safe environment for those wanting to learn and experience these same modalities.  Most importantly, Keepers became a place for people to hang out, meet like-minded individuals, and learn about different spiritual beliefs and practices.  Hundreds of lives were touched by the activities and the experiences at Keepers.  The Center was opened only one year – and, boy, did we cram a lot of experiences and lasting friendships into that one year! – when we received the “call” to literally move on (and out of Texas !).  In hindsight, that year was only an appetizer for what was to come …

So, after a brief detour to North Carolina , we find ourselves here in the State of Georgia !  Same focus, different format.  This time, we chose a healing ministry over a healing center (more flexibility/mobility and less overhead), added an “Inc.” to our name, and filed an application for 501(c)(3) tax exempt status for those who love us and financially support our efforts through donations.  Besides the services offered by Keepers, we also support other non-profit organizations whose missions resonate with ours.

Keepers is home-based in Jonesboro, Georgia and we offer our services at various locations throughout Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.

Interview with Dian Peters

Why do you do this work? Why not? We all have a purpose in life and many spend years searching for their purpose outside of themselves when the search needs to go on inside. I started out just wanting to be a physic and read tarot cards or palms or crystal balls. I took whatever psychic development workshops and classes I could find (and afford) and the teacher of one such class was a Reiki Master. She told us how Reiki can open the third eye or the intuitive center and open up psychic abilities. Well, that sold me on Reiki. And Reiki opened me up to my purpose: alternative healing modalities practitioner. And that opened me up to forming Keepers of the Light, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry which gave life to Project: Keep the Light On, and so on and so on. One door only leads to another door. I am also living my life “third-eye wide open” now.

I went to your website and did not see a fee listed for your energy work. How much is it per session and how long is a session? I do not have my fees listed because they vary depending on the circumstances and the individual involved. I've been told by some that it is too low for what is received, but that's the number that was given to me in meditation and the only time it changes is if I'm working out of someone else's facility and they set a higher price (mostly to cover credit card fees, room use, etc.) I just tell everyone they can feel free to increase the amount they give me if it helps them in honoring what they received. Most sessions only take an hour, but I ask clients to plan on an extra 30 minutes to allow for the unexpected.

What is your schedule like (weekdays and/or evenings?) I'm available every day of the week in Jonesboro except Wednesdays when I take walk-in appointments at Skin and Body Harmony Wellness Center in Stone Mountain. My hours are flexible. I can do in-person sessions at my Jonesboro location or in Stone Mountain at Skin and Body Harmony Wellness Center (depending on availability of a room). I've been known to do phone sessions while traveling across state lines...

Do you do "stand alone" sessions or do you do ongoing sessions until a particular situation is resolved? When doing the first session for a particular situation, it is my intent that it is also the LAST session for that particular issue. I believe that when clients come to me for help, they are committed to their healing and ready to let go of whatever is causing the issue. When they open up "the door" to receive God's healing energy, if God's ready for them to let go of it, there's nothing that can stop the Infinite Power so one session is all it takes. Now that doesn't mean there aren't underlying layers to the issue at hand. Follow up sessions may be necessary to deal with the next layer that's exposed. I leave that decision up to the clients. I tell my clients to trust their inner voice and they'll know when it is time to come back, if ever ... of course, I never turn them away if they want to immediately make another appointment ... sometimes people just want to soak up God's love for no reason at all except to feel good and remember their connection ....

And can you tell me a little more about what a phone session consists of? A phone session can be handled several ways. Clients can either give me areas of their life they want information on or they can ask specific questions. I like to operate on as little beforehand information as possible. Once the information starts flowing from Spiritual Source, it may be necessary for me to ask details such as names, locations, etc. (helps the client "open the door" a bit wider) but I prefer to go in blind, so to speak. If it's convenient, I'll ask clients to email me their questions or a very generic idea of what they want to explore ahead of time so that I can get a head start on the session and avoid dead-air on the phone while I'm "tapping in." Either way, I do "distance healing" work ahead of time and the information and impressions start flooding in before the call occurs.

I find that information flows freely when it is information God wants the person to have. I generally do not have an easy time when clients ask generic future-time-frame type questions (i.e., when will I marry, how many children will I have, will I change jobs, is so-and-so going to get back with another-so-and-so, etc., etc.) Those answers are always dependent on what intent the person is putting out in the Universe ... usually their answer is a lesson about spiritual laws, cause and effect, etc., etc.

How do the in-person sessions work? Is there a difference between those and phone sessions? I consider the phone readings and in-person readings to both be healing modalities because it is God's energy that is being passed on to the client whether it is through my eyes or the palms of my hand or my voice. Phone call sessions are more of a soul reading (i.e., psychic) which includes not only the response to their inquiry, but an explanation of the spiritual laws involved and what part the client plays in the outcome of any situation and the choices that can be made. In phone readings, I encourage the client to learn to listen to their own inner voice and start learning to "tap-in" for themselves.

In-person readings are done using biofield energy work (covers the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies) using a hands-off Reiki modality. I have the clients lie down on a massage table or couch or sit in a chair even and tell them to just relax and be a sponge and soak up the energy. I turn on some music (Steven Halpern - Chakra Suite) and dim the lights. I stand at their head and say a prayer asking God to use me as a channel for the healing energy needed. I then "connect" with the client's energy field and allow myself to be guided as to where to direct the energy. I walk up and down and around the whole table covering the client from head to toe with God's loving energy.

During this time, I am doing an assessment of the client's body energy fields. Every thought we have and every action we take during our life is stored somewhere in the body until we release them. Unpleasant ones can manifest in sickness or challenges on our path in the physical. When I open up as a channel for God's healing energy to flow through me, I am privy to the thoughts and actions that need to be addressed and released (according to God's priorities...). The information I pick up during the session is shared with the client during the "debriefing" segment where we both share our experience of the session. I find that talking about what I picked up and what the clients felt helps further the releasing and healing effort. The most common source of discomfort I have discovered in my clients is a spiritual disconnection -- sometimes intentional, sometimes not. It's amazing what happens when the clients are made aware of the disconnection and how it affects their lives and they learn the importance of consciously strengthening that connection. I've had some amazing experiences on the table.

I personally prefer in-person because I like to have eye contact to make sure what I'm relaying is being understood by the recipient -- the "signals" aren't as strong traveling through the phone wires...

Do you need to know "the story" or just some of it... or maybe just the feelings around it? Other? I prefer to know "the story" at the end of the session. That keeps me from second guessing what I'm "hearing" with my hands. I question and second-guess God enough in my personal life without putting God through it at work!

Do you have any disclaimers you would like to mention? I sure do. I do not heal anyone in the medical sense. I help them make changes in their life on whatever level is needed: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and I do not do it alone – God is with me every step of the way. I am not a medical doctor. I do not prescribe medication or alternative therapies or supplements. I never talk people out of taking their prescribed medications (that is between them and their doctor), however, I do encourage them to tell their doctors they are receiving energy work and to also mention any alternative therapies or supplements they are taking. And I do NOT cure anyone from anything. That’s God’s department … I just get to witness it when it happens.
